چکیده

In order to study and optimize the ion source and injection system of our multiple cyclotron products, Best Cyclotron Systems Inc. (BCSI) has assembled in its Vancouver office a 1 MeV cyclotron development platform. To accommodate different injection line configurations, the main magnet median plane is vertically oriented and rail mounted which also allows easy access to the inner components. In addition, the main magnet central region is equipped with interchangeable magnetic poles, RF elements, and inflector electrodes in order to replicate the features of the simulated cyclotrons. Multiple diagnostic devices are available to fully characterize the beam along the injection line and inside the cyclotron. This paper will describe the design of two system configurations: the 60 MeV H2+ for the DAE ALUS [1,2,3] experiment (MIT, BEST, INFN-LNS) and the BCSI 70 MeV H cyclotron.

PROTON RADIOGRAPHY EXPERIMENT BASED ON A 100 MeV PROTON CYCLOTRON*

A proof-of-principle test-stand for proton radiography is under construction at China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE). This test-stand will utilize the 100 MeV proton beam provided by the compact cyclotron CYCIAE-100, which has been built in the year of 2014, to radiograph thin static objects. The assembling of the test-stand components is finished by now. We will carry out the first proton r...

High Intensity Ion Beam Injection into the 88-inch Cyclotron

Low cross section experiments to produce super-heavy elements have increased the demand for high intensity heavy ion beams at energies of about 5 MeV/nucleon at the 88-Inch Cyclotron at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Therefore, efforts are underway to increase the overall ion beam transmission through the axial injection line and the cyclotron. The ion beam emittance has been measur...

A Precise Beam Dynamics Model of the Psi Injector 2

The Injector 2 at Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) is a 72 MeV separate sector cyclotron producing a high intensity proton beam up to 3 mA CW, which is subsequently injected to the 590 MeV Ring Cyclotron. The injection energy of the pre-bunched beam is 870 keV at an intensity of 10 to 11 mA. In this paper we describe initial conditions for the Injector 2 to obtain a matched beam with space charge t...

Development of the Flat-top Acceleration System for the Rcnp Avf Cyclotron

A new flat-top acceleration system has been developed for an RCNP K140 AVF cyclotron to reduce the energy spread of a beam and to improve beam transmission to an RCNP K400 ring cyclotron. A flat-top cavity with a length of 700 mm and an outer diameter of 170 mm is capacitively coupled to a main resonator. A maximum peak harmonic voltage of 5 kV can be produced on a dee electrode by feeding powe...

Transverse-acceptance Measurement System for Jaea Avf Cyclotron

We are developing an acceptance measurement system to evaluate the matching of the emittance of an injection beam to the acceptance of the AVF cyclotron. The system is composed of a phase-space collimator in the low energy section and beam intensity monitors which are installed just after the phase space collimator and in the high energy section. The phase-space collimator, which consists of tw...
